Santo Rodrigo! Duterte offers to be crucified on Holy Week— but for 30 minutes only

President Rodrigo Duterte has volunteered to be crucified on holy week if priests can prove the allegations made against them in a book are baseless.

Duterte, however, said he could only stay on the cross for a maximum of 30 minutes.

“Kung masagot nila ito at sabihin nila may isang bagay dito na mali, abangan ninyo ang holy week. Dito ako magpalansang sa krus sa Bulacan,” he said in a speech in Bulacan Thursday (January 10).

“Oo, totoo. Pero huwag naman matagal. Siguro mga 30 minutos,” Duterte added.

The President said that based on the book “Altar of Secrets,” there are priests who are gay or fathered children.

The book was written by the late journalist Aries Rufo.

As if to justify his tirades against the Catholic Church, Duterte said he had no choice but to be a Catholic himself because he was born into the faith.

“Catholic ‘yung nanay pati tatay ko. I was brought to the church. Eh ‘di wala akong magawa. It’s not my choice actually, it’s a choice of my parents,” he said.
