Sara dares oust-Duterte matrix source to come out, says journalists deserve benefit of doubt

COTABATO CITY – Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte is reluctant to believe the ouster plot against her father, President Rodrigo Duterte allegedly involving some media entities, saying the source of the alleged matrix should come out.
“Hindi ko alam, mas maganda siguro kung lalabas ang source, kung sino ang source na gumawa ng matrix,” she said in a media interview in Cotabato City.
Mayor Duterte said she was not yet convinced that media entities such as Rappler, Vera Files, and the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ) have allegedly conspired in producing the disparaging video materials in a coordinated effort to destabilize and oust the chief executive.
“Lets give the media entities the benefit of the doubt kung ano ang sa tingin nila karapatdapat na isulat at ibalita sa mga tao,” she said.
Manila Times chairman emeritus Dante Ang in his published article on Monday accused Vera Files chief Ellen Tordesillas of being the main distributor of the “Bikoy videos.”
Ang’s article was accompanied by a matrix linking Tordesillas and Bikoy, the alleged whistleblower featured in the “Ang Totoong Narco List” videos.
Ang, currently President Duterte’s Special Envoy for International Public Relations, disclosed that Tordesillas acted “as the nexus and distributor of the materials” from alias Bikoy to PCIJ, Rappler and the left-leaning National Union of People’s Lawyers (NUPL).
Malacañang has confirmed the ouster plot against the President and will prosecute those involved if the commit overt acts.
