MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon – Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte on Tuesday expressed her deepest sympathies to victims of the magnitude 6.1 earthquake that jolted Central Luzon last Monday afternoon.

“We condole with the families of those who died in Pampanga during the earthquake yesterday,” said Mayor Duterte.

Pampanga, one of the badly hit areas in Luzon, already declared a state of calamity as several structures were severely damaged. Authorities reported that death in the Central Luzon quake already reached 10.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said the earthquake hit parts of Luzon at around 5:11 p.m. on Monday with its epicenter in Castillejos, Zambales

The Presidential daughter, chair of the influential political entity Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP), stressed that it was best to cancel their proclamation rally in Limay, Bataan on April 26 to allow Pampanga and Bataan to focus on disaster response and relief.
