Sara’s Hugpong forges alliance with Umali’s Unang Sigaw party

CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija – Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte’s Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) party on Wednesday formally forged an alliance with Unang Sigaw–Partido ng Pagbabago party of Nueva Ecija Gov. Czarina Umali.
The two political entities formally inked the pact in front of a jam-packed crowd at the grandstand and track oval of Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology.
At least 30,000 people witnessed the signing of partnership between the two parties.
Part of the agreement between the two entities is that the party of the Umali clan will help HNP bets secure as many senate seats as possible in the upcoming May 13 midterm polls.
For her part, Duterte formally endorsed all members of Umali’s ticket from the 27 municipalities and five components cities of the province.
Umali’s husband, former Gov. Oye Umali will be battling former Gen. Tinio town Mayor Virgilio Bote Jr. in this year’s gubernatorial race in Nueva Ecija.
Bote is a member of President Rodrigo Duterte’s Partido Demokratiko Pilipino – Lakas ng Bayan (PDP Laban) and a distant cousin of slain former Mayor Ferdinand Bote.
Mayor Sara’s Hugpong last Monday also formed an alliance with ‘Bileg,’ the regional party of former Ilocos Sur Gov. Luis “Chavit” Singson.
