Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco said organizers of the 30th Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) should be held accountable following the series of blunders and logistical problems of the event.
Velasco made the remarks as the country’s hosting of SEAG Games has been marred with controversies over the alleged shabby handling by the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee chaired by House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano.
“We will just make people who are accountable, (be held) accountable,” said Velasco in an ambush interview on Tuesday.
Velasco however has refused to comment of the flak being received right now by Cayetano over series of blunders right now as head of PHISGOC
Velasco said he has kept silent because he does not want to “grab the limelight,” despite the criticisms against Cayetano—his former rival for the House leadership prior to their term-sharing agreement.
The so-called “Speaker-in-waiting” appealed for a cease fire in the blame game amidst the flak being received by Cayetano and other organizers, adding “there are lots of people who will be filing for investigations on what really happened with the (PH’s hosting of) SEA Games.”
“So, wait na lang po natin ‘yun,” said Velasco.
