The Supreme Court (SC) announced on Friday (Dec. 4) that it has extended until the June the signing of the roll of attorneys for passers of the 2019 bar examinations.
“In view of the continuous spread of the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and in compliance with the instruction of the 2019 Bar Chairperson Associate Justice Estela M. Perlas-Bernabe, the alternative roll signing will be extended until June 30, 2021,” read the notice issued by SC Deputy Clerk of Court and Bar Confidant Rosita Requillas-Nacional.
The SC had earlier set the deadline for the signing of the roll of attorneys on Dec. 30.
“Failure to comply within the prescribed period shall result in the immediate imposition of the appropriate administrative sanctions which will affect one’s good standing as a member of the Philippine Bar,” the notice warned.
On the other hand, the notice said that “bar passers who have already signified their preferred date of roll signing this December 2020 may still proceed as scheduled.”
