SC justices nga sa Zoom lang nagkita! Leonen says holding parties ‘insensitive’ after NCRPO chief’s celebration draws flak
Supreme Court (SC) Justice Marvic Leonen reminded the public the public against the holding parties during this pandemic.
“Parties are mass gatherings,” he said in his Twitter post on Wednesday (May 13).
“It is insensitive to hold one,” the magistrate stressed.
Leonen gave the reminder after National Capital Region Police (NCRPO) had posted photos of the May 8 55th birthday party celebration of its chief, Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas, in an apparent violation of quarantine protocols he was supposed to be implementing.
“The Supreme Court held a retirement ceremony of a justice with 40 years of service via a private videoconferenced ceremony,” Leonen cited about the recent retirement of Justice Andres Reyes Jr.
“He deserves more but we had to do what was ethical while our people suffer,” Leonen lamented.
