The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) has been on alert against solicitations using the name of Director General Gerald Bantag.

In a memorandum, BuCor Acting Director for Administration CTCSupt. John Paul O. Santos told BuCor officials report all solicitations “for verification.”

“It has come to our attention that there are solicitation requests using the name of Director General, Usec. Gerald Q. Bantag, seeking cash donations or in any kind for calamity victims or benevolent activities through anonymous text message or emails,” Santos disclosed.

He also reminded BuCor personnel “not to solicit any kind of donations from PDL (persons deprived of liberty) for projects within or outside BuCor.”
