Scare tactic? BuCor officer stabbed inside Bilibid ahead of Senate hearing
Department of Justice (DOJ) Undersecretary Markk Perete revealed that a Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) officer was hurt after being stabbed by a convicted prisoner of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City.
Citing reports from the BuCor, Perete identified the wounded person as duty officer Edgardo Ferrer.
Perete, who has supervision over the BuCor, learned that the stabbing incident took place at around 8:30 a.m. Thursday (Sept. 12) inside the Bilibid compound.
The DOJ spokesman Ferrer got stabbed by an inmate who is “suffering from schizophrenia.”
“Officer Ferrer sustained superficial stab wound on his lower abdominal and has been given commensurate medical care,” he assured.
