Senators Sonny and Chiz motivated UP Fighting Maroons to get their first win

Notable alumni of University of the Philippines gave some sort of incentives to UP Fighting Maroons to get their first win this UAAP Season.  Senator Sonny Angara, a well-known basketball fan, showed up before game time on Saturday and delivered a 50-inch LED TV and a DVD player, which will be used for game review. Angara believes the incentives given to the team has no great effect on UP’s first win. Business World

“Nagkataon lang,” Angara told Business World. “But I’m very happy syempre kasi first win in 28 games, so talagang crazy happy ang mga taga-UP. The team played great defense and played with a lot of heart.” Before Angara’s token gifts, Senator Chiz Escudero also provided the team brand-new pair of shoes. A bonfire was held at the Sunken Garden Following the team’s first win. Business World
