Shookt! Watch Duterte’s reaction about rumors he’s sick
President Rodrigo Duterte stopped in his tracks and gave Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque a surprised look Thursday (October 4) when told that rumors were swirling once again that he’s sick.
Duterte’s shocked reaction was caught on video by Roque, who shared it on his Facebook page to dispel rumors that the President was ill after he skipped an event in Malacañang on Wednesday (October 3).
The 32-second footage showed Duterte arriving at the command conference with the top brass of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police.
As Duterte shook the hands of the uniformed officers, Roque told him from behind: “Bini-video ko kayo ha? Kasi sabi nila may sakit daw kayo eh.”
Duterte cast a surprised look at Roque and smiled for a bit before moving on to shake the hands of other officers.
Speculation about Duterte’s health swirled once again after he was a no-show at the turnover of a check from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation. Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea attended the event in his place.
There were rumors that Duterte was taken to Cardinal Santos Medical Center but the Palace denied it. Roque said the President wanted to have “private time” so he skipped the PAGCOR event.
Before the command conference, Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go released photos showing Duterte looking healthy as he met with former President Fidel V. Ramos in Malacañang Thursday. He also posed for photos with some awardees and government employees.
