President Rodrigo Duterte will select three individuals from a shortlist of foreign health experts to investigate the alleged ill effects of the controversial Dengvaxia vaccine, Malacañang said Tuesday (July 10).
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Health Secretary Francisco Duque III submitted the shortlist of health experts to Duterte. The prospective investigators, he added, are from Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore and Sri Lanka.
Duterte ordered the creation of an independent panel to probe the impact of Dengvaxia vaccine on those who received it due to the conflicting findings of the DOH and Public Attorney’s Office.
Over 800,000 children from public schools received the vaccine in 2016, during the final stretch of the Aquino administration.
