Actor Matteo Guidicelli told a basher to shut up after he was criticized for expressing love for the country.

Guidicelli on July 6 retweeted an Instagram post where he saluted to the Philippine flag beside fellow actor Robin Padilla.

The caption read: “Salute to the flag, salute to our beautiful country! We challenge YOU, especially our colleagues in the showbiz industry. Instead of talking smack about different issues, why not unite so we may progress to make a better tomorrow. What do you think?”

Netizen @benok_castillo mocked Guidicelli for backing the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

“Lol you allied with the AFP which is probably one of the least patriotic organisations in the country. It’s more concerned with defending foreign capitalists and big businesses (e.g. mining) than safeguarding the people’s welfare,” he said.

Guidicelli responded curtly with the advice: “I suggest you just stop talking. Thanks.”

The 29-year-old actor is an army reservist. He recently finished his Scout Ranger Orientation and Leadership Development Course at a military camp in Bulacan.
