Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV is claiming Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte has a total of 41 properties under his name, his 4 children and their spouses.
In an exclusive interview with GMA News’ Maki Pulido, Trillanes said: “Contrary to what they have been saying that they are simple people, a simply family with a simple lifestyle, no.
They have a lot of properties. Di ka data mamakyaw ng properties kung simple ka lang.”
Based on Trillanes’ latest expose, the Duterte family has 41 property assets,- 34 in Davao City, one in San Juan City (Metro Manila), two in Dipolog City, one in Cagayan de Oro City, one in Paranaque City, one in Quezon City and one in Davao del Norte.
Of these properties, 15 were under the name of daughter Sara and her husband; with 10 eldest son Paulo; eight with youngest son Sebastian; and two with youngest daughter Veronica.
In his 2014 statement of assets, liabilities, and net worth (SALN), Duterte reported that his combined real properties were valued at P1.36 million. As a mayor, Duterte only earned less than P1 million a year of P79,000 a month.
GMA News checked with the Land Registration Authority on the status of these assets.
The LRA said four of the properties had been sold to new owners but it validated the ownership of the rest of the properties.
Trillanes said that a simple person would only have one or two properties. “But if you have ten or more, you have to explain. I believe Mayor Duterte has more properties and assets that are not under his name. I think he has more ill-gotten wealth in the millions,” said Trillanes.
