The Supreme Court (SC) Justice , sitting as Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET), is set to rule on the recount of ballots in the three pilot provinces in the electoral protest of former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. against Vice President Leni Robredo.

SC Spokesman Brian Hosaka said on Tuesday (Sept. 10) SC Justice Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa, who is in charge of the poll protest, has “submitted yesterday, September 9,, 2019, a report to the Tribunal on the results of the said revision of ballots.

“However, the tribunal has not taken any action yet on the said report of Justice Caguioa,” Hosaka said.

The PET conducted the recount on the three pilot provinces picked by Marcos, namely, Iloilo, Negros Oriental, and Camarines Sur.

The results of the recount will determine if the PET will hold a nationwide recount.

“The Tribunal would like to again remind the parties that they are still subject to the subjudice rule pursuant to its resolution dated February 13, 2018 and March 20, 2018,” Hosaka said.

“Hence, they are strictly ordered to refrain from making any public statements to the media with regard to the case,” he added.
