Former Senator Sonny Trillanes on Friday said the public should not take House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano seriously.
Trillanes made the remark in a chance interview at the sidelines of the international forum on lawfare wherein he was one of the speakers.
Senator Grace Poe, chairperson of the Senate Committee on Public Services, earlier stood pat on her decision to inquire on the controversy hounding the renewal of ABS-CBN’s franchise which is set to expire on March 30.
Asked to comment on Cayetano’s statement that the Senate will violate the Constitution if it will push through with its inquiry on the franchise of ABS-CBN broadcast network, Trillanes said, “Huwag kayong maniwala dyan kay Cayetano.”
“Sa sampung sinabi nyan, labing-isa ang kasinungalingan. [Ayaw niyang mag hearing ang Senado] kasi gusto n’yang in-monopolize ang hearings,” Trillanes said.
