Snitch alert! Bongbong claims PET revisors under Robredo’s influence
The camp of former President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Friday (July 13) has expressed fears that Vice President Leni Robredo already has influence over Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) revisors conducting the manual recount of the 2016 vice presidential polls.
Marcos lawyer Vic Rodriguez made this claim after learning that the PET has already conducted and concluded its investigation over the Pansol outing issue.
“We are completely surprised and quite shocked with the pronouncement of the Presidential Electoral Tribunal that an investigation on the highly improper Pansol outing had already been conducted and concluded,” he said in a statement.
Marcos had already filed a manifestation asking the PET to investigating the Pansol outing but the tribunal issued a resolution which said that it already did so.
Prior the PET’s issuance of the resolution, Rodriguez said he was surprised to learn that Robredo’s camp already knew about the PET investigation based on the counter-manifestation she filed.
“Mrs. Robredo’s inside information confirms our earlier submission that she has already infiltrated some revisors of the PET at the expense not only of Sen. Marcos’ election protest but the entire Filipino people who are tirelessly waiting to know the truth on who really won the vice presidential elections,” Rodriguez said.
In his manifestation, Marcos had informed the PET that Robredo’s party revisor, Osmundo Abulayan, went on an outing last June 24 in Pansol, Laguna along with at least 24 PET officers including head revisors, alternate head revisor, appraiser, ballot box custodians and chief tabulator.
Since a PET manual recount is ongoing over his election protest, Marcos sought the investigation of the outing since it appears that Robredo of trying to influence the PET officers.
“Protestant Marcos cannot help but wonder if the ongoing judicial recounts and revision proceeding is compromised given that the ‘pansol outing’ was attended by a number of PET personnel who appear to be in cahoots with the protestee’s (Robredo) camp,” read his manifestation.
The former senator suspects that the camp of Robredo has “already infiltrated and curried favor with these PET personnel in order to manipulate, influence and/or control the revision proceedings and maneuver the revision results in her favor.”
