Senator Francis Tolentino has advised local and foreign tourists to temporarily avoid Tagaytay City following the eruption of Taal Volcano.

He issued the advisory to ensure public safety and well-being,

“As former Mayor of Tagaytay City we advise tourists to avoid the City at the moment in view of the new ongoing eruption of Taal Volcano,” Tolentino said.

“We encourage residents of Batangas to move away from the danger zones. We will try to accommodate the evacuees in our barangay halls and gyms,” he added.

Senator Kiko Pangilinan, who has a farm in Cavite, said, “Stay safe, everyone!”

Senator Grace Poe has also adjusted her scheduled public hearing on Tuesday.

“In the interest of public safety amid the Taal eruption, the Senate public services hearing on the regulation of motorcycle taxi scheduled on Jan. 14, Tuesday, has been moved to Jan. 16, Thursday,” Poe said.
