Sorry, LP: Leni won’t have answer to VP offer by Sept. 30
Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo said she will need more time to decide on the Liberal Party’s offer for her to become its vice presidential candidate as she continues to consult with her daughters about her political plans.
Speaking to reporters at the House of Representatives on Monday (Sept. 28), Robredo said she has yet to answer the apprehensions of her three daughters— Aika, Tricia and Jillian— regarding her possible run for vice president.
“Maraming apprehensions [ang mga anak ko]. Nag-aadjust pa sila na wala silang tatay, na ‘yung nanay nila biglang naging politiko, tapos ngayon may bago na naman. Parang ‘yung bugbog kasi sunud-sunod. Kailangan namang bigyan [kami] ng mas maraming space,” she said.
Asked if she will have a decision ready when LP holds its national convention on Wednesday (Sept. 30), Robredo said: “Parang di ko kaya ‘yung Wednesday na deadline.”
LP officials have said they will announce the running mate of former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, the administration standard bearer, during the national convention to be held at the party’s Balay headquarters.
