Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Alfredo Garbin said President Rodrigo Duterte’s new record-high approval ratings only shows that he has gained the support not just of the 16.6 million who voted for him back in 2016.

Garbin stressed that latest non-commissioned figures from both Pulse Asia and Social Weather Station (SWS) only means that Filipino still people trust Duterte and only about 3 percent to 4 percent were dissatisfied with his performance.

Garbi said Duterte has built on his May 2016 mandate “with the successful runs of the new senators, as well as of reelected congressmen and new solons.”

“The Filipino people trust President Duterte despite what the critics in the 3 percent to percent minority who disapprove say,” said Garbin.

The chief executive last week got a new personal record-high satisfaction rating, with 80 percent of adult Filipinos satisfied with his performance

The same survey disclosed 12 percent of the respondents were dissatisfied while nine percent were undecided.

Meanwhile, eight out of 10 Filipinos trust and approve with Duterte according to the latest Pulse Asia Survey.

The Pulse Asia survey dated June 24 to 30 showed that 85 percent of the respondents said they were satisfied with Duterte’s performance.

“As the 18th Congress prepares to buckle down to work starting next week, the survey results also indicate strong citizen support for his overall governance agenda,” said Garbin.
