Were doses of Russia’s Sputnik V vaccines smuggled to Quezon before they were shipped to the Philippines on May 1?
No less than Quezon Governor Danilo Suarez claimed that Sputnik V vaccines were already used in the province, according to Pilipino Star Ngayon columnist Al Pedroche.
Only 15,000 doses of Sputnik V were delivered to the Philippines on May 1 as paart of the government’s dry run to test how the vaccines should be used.
The Sputnik V vaccine requires a storage temperature of minus 18 degrees Celsius and below.
The cities of Taguig, Manila, Muntinlupa, Makati, and Parañaque were given 3,000 doses each of the vaccine.
An additional 485,000 doses will be delivered within May, according to COVID-19 task force chief implementer Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr.
