Vice President Leni Robredo may be the last politiko in her family.
According to Robredo, her daughters are hardworking and outspoken but are not interested in becoming politikos. The veep has three daughters Aika, Tricia and Jillian.
Robredo came to the defense of her daughters after Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque flagged their social media posts that supposedly trigered President Duterte’s tirade against her last Tuesday. The President’s mouthpiece, in his press conference on government tv, even paraded the tweets made by Aika and Tricia that supposedly took a potshot at Duterte. The tweets were about a person still asleep a day after the Cagayan floods.
Roque’s action however did not sit well with the Vice President.
“Ngayon, ang binubully mga anak ko,” she wrote on Facebook.
She said she is proud of her daughters, saying they are “their own persons.”
“What they have accomplished, so far, are all borne out of their hardwork. They never used our name or whatever little influence we have to get what they want,” she said.
“They’re all adults now. They’re not in government. They are not politicians and they don’t plan to be,” she said.
She said her daughters are “outspoken and rightfully so,” adding they were trained “stand up for themselves and what they believe in.”
