President Rodrigo Duterte urged government officials to refuse tempting opportunities for corruption.
Duterte made the statement during the mass oathtaking of newly appointed government officials in Malacanang on Wednesday.
“I also encourage you to remain steadfast in fulfilling your oath to be ethical and honorable government workers,” the President said.
“Refuse any temptation that would taint your dignity and affect your integrity as public servants,” he added.
Since the start of his presidency, Duterte has a tough stance on corruption. He has also removed several Cabinet members and government officials over allegations of corruption.
