Senator Manny Pacquiao has no beef with ABS-CBN journalist Karen Davila despite getting grilled about his education background during a recent television interview.
Pacquiao instead appealed to the public to “stop the hate” amid reports Davila has drawn the ire of some netizens over alleged rude interview with the boxing champ.
“For the record, I was never offended by her manner of questioning. Isa po siyang batikan sa larangan ng Broadcasting at trabaho po niya na magbigay ng mabibigat na tanong sa taong kanyang ini-interview,” he said.
“Pakiusap ko lang po: LET US STOP THE HATE. Magtrabaho lang po tayo para sa kapakanan ng ating bayan. Sa lahat ng pagsubok, tandaan po natin: God is good all the time,” he added.
Davila earlier grilled Pacquiao about his decision to take a college degree during a recent appearance on ANC’s Headstart. Pacquiao said he was trying to finish college but declined to reveal which school he enrolled in Manila.
In his latest statement, Pacquiao explained his decision to earn a college degree, saying he never quits and never stops challenging himself.
“Kung may formal training sa boxing, may formal training din sa education. I continue learning not only in academics but also in life. With God’s wisdom, I am pursuing formal education because it is important to gain deeper knowledge and better understanding on what is happening around us,” he said.
