‘Strongman’ Duterte tells Pinoys: Be disciplined!
President Rodrigo Duterte has urged Filipinos to be disciplined to sustain the reforms started by the government.
In a speech at the 120th celebration of Independence Day in Kawit, Cavite, Duterte said Davao City became progressive because he insisted on discipline when he was mayor for over two decades.
“Kaya ho ‘yan ang ano ko sa inyo — ipagbilin ko lang sa inyo. I will be gone like the dust in the wind. Passing lang po ako,” he said Tuesday (June 12).
“Sabihin ko sa inyo, unless kung wala tayong konting disiplina at people continue to ignore it, the laws and the rules by which we live by, medyo mahirapan tayo,” he added.
Duterte urged the audience to visit Davao City so they can see its progress and safety for themselves.
