The Otso Diretso team has been savaged for taking on a virtually suicidal strategy by focusing its campaign on attacking President Rodrigo Duterte at the peak of his popularity.

Vice President Leni Robredo said it was a deliberate choice by the campaign team led by Senator Kiko Pangilinan to hit Duterte because the candidates could not stomach the president’s abuses and shortcomings.

From the very start, alam namin iyon.

Alam nila iyon,” said Robredo in an interview with DZXL’s Ely Saludar.

She said Otso Diretso bets felt it was their obligation to point out the mistakes or abuses of the administration even this mean going against popular opinion.

Otso Diretst are expected to be shut out of the top
