Sulitin na ang libre! Angara tells college students exempt from paying tuition: Study hard
Re-electionist senator Sonny Angara today urged Filipino students to study hard and maximize the opportunities afforded by free education to find gainful employment and become a productive citizen.
“As students, your responsibility is to study hard because that’s your passport to employment and good life,” Angara said.
Free education from kindergarten to college is one of the advocacies of the lawmaker who is running under the platform of “Alagang Angara.”
Under Republic Act 10931 or the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, which Angara co-authored, tuition and miscellaneous fees in all public tertiary schools nationwide are now free for all students.
“Panahon na para ipaunawa sa ating mga estudyante na kung mag-aaral sila ng mabuti at seseryosohin nila ang pag-aaral ay maaari silang makapagtapos at may naghihintay sa kanilang magandang kinabukasan,” Angara added.
Angara is also one of the authors of the Student Fare Discount Act which institutionalized and expanded the 20-percent student fare discount for air and sea transport.
