Surge in Pulse survey ‘inspires’ VP Robredo to serve Filipinos better — spox
The camp of Vice President Leni Robredo welcomed the rise in her approval and trust ratings in the latest Pulse Asia survey.
In the 2nd Quarter Pulse Asia survey released on Wednesday (July 17, 2019), Robredo received a 55-percent approval rating—six percentage points higher than her rating in March. Her trust rating also rose from 47 percent to 52 percent.
In a statement on Thursday (July 18, 2019), Vice Presidential Spokesperson Atty. Barry Gutierrez thanked Filipinos for their continued trust and support for Robredo.
“Nagpapasalamat kami sa patuloy na pagtitiwala at pagsuporta ng ating mga kababayan kay VP Leni at sa kanyang trabahong ginagawa,” Gutierrez said.
Gutierrez said the VP’s improved rating will serve as an inspiration for her office to further boost their efforts in uplifting the lives of the poor and marginalized.
“Muli itong magsisilbing inspirasyon na lalo pang magpursige sa pagsisikap na makatulong sa pag-angat ng buhay ng ating mga kapwa Pilipino, lalo na iyong mga nasa laylayan.”
The poll, conducted from June 24 to 30, also showed that Robredo’s approval rating surged in different areas and socioeconomic classes. She garnered the highest approval and trust rating in Visayas with 66 percent, while in Luzon, she obtained 52 percent from 46 percent in the previous survey.
Her ratings in Mindanao—President Duterte’s bailiwick—also improved, with 63 percent approval rating and 57 trust rating, both went up by 11 percentage points and 14 percentage points, respectively.
Also according to the survey, the poorest Filipinos trusted Robredo the most, having garnered 60 percent approval and 56 percent trust ratings from Class E. But across all socioeconomic groups, VP’s rating improved compared last March.
