The coronavirus lockdown does not mean you can’t have a memorable birthday.

Senator Richard Gordon marked his quarantine birthday with a surprise virtual party from friends and colleagues. Gordon turned 75 on August 5.

“Thank you everyone for organizing this surprise virtual birthday party and for all your well-wishes—you really surprised me!” the senator wrote on Instagram.

Gordon thanked his friends for the birthday messages and wished for their safety during the pandemic. He admitted the past few months have been challenging as the country battles the coronavirus outbreak.

“The past five months have been extremely challenging but I get more inspired day by day knowing that I have everyone of you by my side. I wish for everyone’s safety amidst this pandemic. Again, MANY THANKS TO ALL OF YOU.
