Court Administrator Jose Midas Marquez is back as the spokesman of the high tribunal.
Supreme Court (SC) Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin announced on Monday (Dec. 3) that designated Marquez for the post but only on temporarily.
Bersamin explained to reporters that he believes Marquez can “varnish the image of the courts and varnish my image as chief justice.”
Marquez has been SC spokesman during the time of late chief justice Renato Corona.
Currently, the court administrator is seeking a seat as a justice of the SC.
He is among 20 candidates vying for a spot which will be vacated upon the Jan. 5 retirement of Justice Noel Tijam.
