Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla said the two remaining Japanese fugitives in the custody of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) will be deported on Wednesday, Feb. 8, the same day President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. leaves for a state visit to Japan.
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) was able to arrest 55 foreign fugitives in 2020, BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said.
