‘Eat Bulaga’ literally became the cash cow of TAPE Inc. when it still starred Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey De Leon, with the Jalosjos-led production company reportedly earning over P1.8 billion annually from the advertisements that aired on the noontime show.
Comedians Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey De Leon, known collectively as TVJ, have filed a complaint for copyright infringement and unfair competition against production firm TAPE Inc. and GMA Network over the noontime show “Eat Bulaga,” which they hosted for over four decades.
Two of “Eat Bulaga’s” long-time hosts, Wally Bayola and Paolo Ballesteros, denied the claim of TAPE Inc. Chief Financial Officer Bullet Jalosjos and his siblings that they were disrespected by the cast of the iconic noontime show whenever they’re in the studio.
Former Senate President Vicente Sotto III, Vic Sotto and Joey De Leon, whose trio is known as TVJ, announced Wednesday (May 31) their departure from TAPE Incorporated, the producer of “Eat Bulaga!”
