Takot ma-exposé! Abante arson attack could be politically motivated, says Nograles

Party-list Cong. Jericho Nograles (Puwersa ng Bayaning Atleta) believed that the recent arson attack against hard-hitting tabloid newspaper Abante could be politically motivated.
“This could be political, but definitely criminal,” said Nograles in a statement.
Nograles condemned Monday’s morning attack inside Abante’s publishing plant in Sucat, Parañaque, wherein armed perpetrators attempted to blaze the paper’s printing equipment and injuring two on-duty staff.
Nograles said the armed perpetrators were probably hired mercenaries by those who are affected by Abante’s hard-hitting style of news and commentary.
“Natatakot siguro mga kriminal sa mga expose ng Abante and all its affiliated outlets,” said Nograles.
The party-list solon believed that all those personalities and groups who have been exposed by Abante in the past can be considered behind the violent attack.
“Lahat ng nai-report ay dapat suspek na may motibo, kasama na ang blind item,” said Nograles.
Party-list groups ACT-CIS and Bayan Muna earlier urged authorities to hasten its inquiry over the attempted arson against Abante.
Abante Editor-in-Chief Fernando Jadulco on Monday stressed the news entity “will not be cowed by this attempt to strike fear into our reporters, editors and staff.”
