Takot mabisto? Vince Dizon goes pale as Drilon grills Bong Go on BCDA’s 2020 budget

Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) president Vince Dizon proved to be no match for Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon as the latter questioned BCDA’s proposed 2020 budget at the Senate.

Netizen @sejoalzir noticed Dizon’s face become pale as he coached Senator Bong Go in answering Drilon.

May gusto bang takpan? May tawag diyan ang mga Tagalog — aligaga. Parang may linta sa tumbong. Hindi mapakali. Takot mabisto?” the netizen said.

The Senate recalled the approval of BCDA’s proposed P15.5-billiion budget Thursday over questions on what would happen to the facilities it built for the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games once the athletic meet is over.

The new sports facilities in New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac, which are worth P9.5 billion, are under BCDA, but it was Go, the sponsor of PSC’s budget, who faced Drilon.

The Senate leader said there have been several reports of sports facilities falling into ruin after an athletic meet, citing what happened to structures built in China, Brazil and Greece.

With coaching from Dizon, Go said BCDA plans to privatize the New Clark City’s operations so it can fund the maintenance of the sports facilities.

However, Dizon, through Go, could not say which private developers are interested in maintaining the sports facilities or privatizing New Clark City.

Netizen @sejoalzir believes Dizon pushed for the construction of the new sporting facilities to make money.

I-renovate ang existing dorms para magamit,” he said.

The netizen claimed Dizon and other BCDA officials didn’t consider holding a contest for designing the athletic stadium at New Clark City because they would’ve been unable to profit from it.

Mga bobo at kawatan,” @sejoalzir said.
