Tatak Pinoy! Angara bats for local slippers, toiletries for PH hotel guests
To boost the growth of local industries, Senator Sonny Angara has proposed that hotels and other similar establishments should provide locally-made toiletries and slippers for their guests.
Angara asked the Department of Tourism to consider such proposal to hotel operators, saying it was an opportunity to promote quality Philippine-made products as more tourists pour into the country.
“We must continue to find ways to support our local industries and providing hotel guests with essentials such as slippers, soaps and shampoos made by Filipino entrepreneurs will go a long way in attaining this goal,” he said.
“When the demand goes up, the manufacturers will produce more, their businesses will grow and more jobs will be created. In the end, all of this will spark economic activity and we’ll even reduce our carbon
footprint,” he added.
He said tourism department could offer incentives to hotel owners who will support locally made products.
