Teddy’s got heart! Locsin cries while talking about Duterte amid illness rumors
Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro “Teddyboy” Locsin Jr. showed his soft side Monday (August 17) as he turned emotional while talking about President Rodrigo Duterte.
Locsin’s voice wavered and he sniffed upon mentioning Duterte’s name when he welcomed 410 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who returned to the Philippines from Lebanon at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Addressing the OFWs, Locsin said: “I want to thank people around me. Everyday nandito sila to welcome back our people.”
“We do it because we love you. And we do it because we respect our President, the first and only President who has dared for the least of the Filipino people,” he added.
Locsin’s display of emotion happened amid rumors that Duterte was flown to Singapore to receive medical treatment.
Malacañang has denied reports that the President is overseas, saying he continues to monitor the situation in the country from his home in Davao City.
