Commission on Elections (Comelec) commissioner Rowena Guanzon has disputed erroneous reports that the poll body has approved former National Youth Commission chair Ronald Cardema’s bid to become the substitute nominee of the Duterte Youth party-list group.
Guanzon took to Twitter to clarify that Cardema’s substitution has not yet been approved, saying a hearing will be set on the opposition to his petition.
“Re: Cardema Not the substitution but his application for substitution was given due course. His substitution is not yet granted because there is a pending petition or opposition on the ground that he us over 30 yrs old and cannot be a rep of a youth sector party list,” Guanzon tweeted.
