There will be hell to pay: 2 generals bugging Duterte in Russia are ninja cops protectors – Panelo
Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said the two generals on President Rodrigo Duterte’s mind during his ongoing Russia trip are protectors of ninja cops.
“With regard to (Duterte’s) remarks during the Valdai Forum where he disclosed that there are two generals who are still involved in the illegal drug industry, he refers to the PNP (Philippine National Police) generals who have been accused to have protected the ninja cops,” said Panelo, however, did not specify the two generals.
Based on the ongoing Senate probe, PNP chief General Oscar Albayalde is in hot water for letting off the hook the 13 Pampanga cops who allegedly stashed away the bulk of the shabu cache they confiscated in a 2013 raid. Albayalde was then Pampanga police chief. The ninja cops were supposed to be dismissed but they were only demoted.
While the President would let the Senate finish its investigation on ninja cops, Panelo said Duterte would wait for the recommendation of the Interior Secretary Eduardo Ano to finish his internal investigation before acting on the case. Albayalde will retire on November 8.
Panelo revealed that the President “continues to monitor developments in the Philippines while he is busy with his commitments in Moscow and Sochi, Russia.”
“The President’s unyielding posture against illegal drugs and those who destroy the country, regardless of whether they belong to the government, by spreading these substances in our communities, will not waver. As our Chief Executive has mentioned in many occasions, there will be hell to pay for those who become worse than criminals.
