Francis Tolentino wants senators to pass more laws than probe scandals
Former Presidential Adviser Francis Tolentino says the Senate should be more proactive.
The senatorial candidate said instead of congressional investigations, the Senate should craft more laws.
“Masisipag naman ang ating mga senador, ang napupuna ko lang, puro congressional investigation in aid of legislation, dapat gumawa naman ng batas, yung proactive.”
In an interview, Tolentino pointed out that Congressional investigation is a reaction to a controversy or issue at hand.
The administration bet said there should be less legislative inquiries, and it would be better to focus on laws that would benefit the future generation.
“Pagusapan natin ang mga batas na makakatulong sa mga bata ten years from now. ”
In the same interview, Tolentino said he admires Former Senators Arturo Tolentino, Miriam Defensor-Santiago and Raul Roco.
He said the three are studious and legal luminaries.
