Trillanes doubts Duterte’s vaping ban: Just a diversionary tactic from SEA Games kaldero, extortion attempt from industry

Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV has refused to believe the sincerity of President Duterte’s vaping ban hook, line and sinker.

In his latest social media post, Trillanes laid down 10 ways to read Duterte’s ban on public vaping, from calling it a diversionary tactic from the Southeast Asian Games cauldron controversy, an extortion attempt from the vaping industry, to dismissing it as a joke.

“It is a ruse to divert the attention from the “Gintong Kaldero” corruption scam. (Iniiba ang usapan.),” the former lawmaker said.

“He is either extorting money from the industry, or he wants to be an industry partner. (Similar to his previous equally shocking declarations such as, “suspend mining operations”, “ban on online gaming (PhilWeb)”, “close PCSO/STL”, “war on smuggling”, “war on drugs” na lalong lumala o nagtuloy tuloy naman after makapasok ang Davao group),” he said.

He said the President’s declaration could also be a result of his Fentanyl use or another lazy afternoon of bashing.

“The 10 ways to read Duterte’s declaration to ban vaping:

  1. It is a ruse to divert the attention from the “Gintong Kaldero” corruption scam. (Iniiba ang usapan.)
  2. He is either extorting money from the industry, or he wants to be an industry partner. (Similar to his previous equally shocking declarations such as, “suspend mining operations”, “ban on online gaming (PhilWeb)”, “close PCSO/STL”, “war on smuggling”, “war on drugs” na lalong lumala o nagtuloy tuloy naman after makapasok ang Davao group).
  3. It is a joke. (on the Filipinos?)
  4. According to Panelo, Duterte is Bisaya so he speaks differently than the rest of the Visayans.
  5. The Fentanyl effect (lucid interval).
  6. Duterte is genuinely concerned about the vapers’ health so he wants them to switch back to the “much safer” cigarettes.
  7. Duterte intends to put Faeldon as the head of the anti-vaping task force.
  8. Bumenta na ang, “I hate DRUGS!”
  9. Duterte wants to see if he could also stop vaping the way Quiboloy “stopped” the earthquakes.
  10. It was just one of those lazy afternoons and Duterte needed to bash something.”
