Try and try again! Midas Marquez joins 14 abogados in aspiring for SC seat
Court Administrator and 14 other candidates will be vying for the seat at the Supreme Court (SC) vacated by Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin.
The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) announced on Saturday (Dec. 7) that 15 have applied for the post.
Aside from Marquez, those who applied are Sandiganbayan Presiding Justice Amparo Cabotaje Tang, Red Tape Authority Deputy Director General Ernesto Perez, and Court of Appeals (CA) Justices Ramon Cruz, Eduardo Peralta Jr., Samuel Gaerlan, Jhosep Lopez, Pablito Perez, Maria Filomena Singh, Oscar Badelles, Manuel Barrios, Ramon Bato Jr., Apolinario Bruselas Jr., Ramon Garcia, and Ricardo Rosario.
“The public may submit a sworn complaint, report, or opposition against any of the aforesaid candidates,” the JBC said.
Meanwhile, the JBC has scheduled public interviews for the some of the the candidates.
Cruz and Peralta will be interviewed this December 19, while, the two two Perez, Gaerlan, Lopez, and Singh will face the JBC n December 18.
The others will no longer be facing the JBC since their past interviews still remain valid.
