Tuloy ang rigodon! Senators back Zubiri for Senate majority leader

Re-electionist senators would be backing Senator Migz Zubiri to become Senate majority leader when the incumbent majority leader, Senator Tito Sotto, replaces Senate President Koko Pimentel.
“‘Yung grupo namin (The Force), leaning towards Senator Migz Zubiri, unang-una dati na siyang naging majority leader. Alam na niya ang trabaho,” Senator Nancy Binay told reporters in Las Piñas.
“Senator Zubiri would be very acceptable dahil napaka-amiable ‘yun, walang kaaway ‘yun, and he has been the majority leader before, so alam na niya ang trabaho,” Senator JV Ejercito said.
Zubiri has been strongly rumored to become Senate majority leader once Sotto replaces Pimentel at the helm of the chamber.
He has served as majority leader from November 2008 until June 2010, when he was suceeded by Sotto.
While senators are mum on when the change would happen, a draft Senate resolution electing Sotto as Senate president has already been signed by 14 senators, or a majority of the upper house.
Binay told reporters that a copy of the resolution was delivered to her home in San Antonio, Makati for her signature during the long weekend for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan polls last May 14.
