Tuluyan na ‘yan! Dick dares Duterte to name 2 ‘narco generals’
Senator Richard Gordon has urged President Rodrigo Duterte to identify the two generals he recently revealed were “still playing” with illegal drugs.
In an interview over dwIZ radio Saturday (October 5), Gordon said identifying the so called “narco generals” immediately will send the message that the administration’s war on drugs are not only targeting small fry.
“Kung alam na niya, dapat tuluyan na niya. ‘Wag na niya kaming hintayin,” the senator said of Duterte.
Gordon, chair of the Senate blue ribbon and justice committees conducting a probe on the so called “ninja cops,” said the prompt identification of the “narco generals” will help in their apprehension.
“They can be put into administrative arrest already. Puwede na niya i-put into quarters ang mga ‘yan. In fact, kahit na ang mga regional commanders can summarily dismisss them and even file a case,” the senator said.
Duterte revealed in a forum in Sochi, Russia that there are two generals who are involved in the illegal drug trade.
“And right now, even as I fly here and go back. There are about again two generals who are still playing with drugs,” he said.
Duterte, however, did not identify the generals nor say whether they come from the police or military.
The President’s remark comes at the heels of the revelation at the Senate hearings that outgoing Philippine National Police chief General Oscar Albayalde asked to stop the implementation of the dismissal order against 13 so called “ninja cops” who conducted an anti-drug operation in Pampanga that was allegedly riddled with irregularities.
Albayalde was the provincial director of the Pampanga police at the time the operation was conducted in 2013.
