An official of the House of Representatives believed that the recent explosion of Taal Volcano as well as other reported natural and man-made disasters around the world are “signs of the second coming.”
House Deputy Speaker Eduardo Villanueva made the remarks during the House of Representatives’ out of town session in Batangas City last Wednesday.
“Ang sangkatutak pong disasters, calamities na dumarating sa iba’t ibang bansa katulad ng lindol, katulad ng floods, katulad ng tsunami at lahat-lahat na po… ito po ay bahagi ng second coming of Jesus sa Matthew chapter 24,” said Villanueva during his manifestation prior to the adjournment of Wednesday’s session.
The 24th chapter of the Gospel St. Matthew in the Bible’s new testament commences the so-called Olivet Discourse or “Little Apocalypse” told by Jesus Christ himself—wherein, all major unfulfilled prophecies will be fulfilled during a global time of catastrophe and war known as the “Great Tribulation,” in which many other prophecies will be fulfilled during or after the Millennium Reign of Jesus Christ or also known as the second coming.
Villanueva, founder of Jesus is Lord Church, said that calamities and other tragic events being experienced in various parts of Earth were also due to “the curses of sin.”
But Villanueva was quick to clarify that the doomsday scenario may be averted if people will “humble themselves” and “turned from their wicked ways.”
If my people who are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turned from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven. I will forgive your sins, and I will heal your land’,” said Villanueva.
