President Rodrigo Duterte will address the nation on Monday as Congress awaits his report on the implementation of Bayanihan to Heal as One Act, Malacañang said.
“He will have a televised message today tentatively set at 4:00 p.m.,” according to Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo.
Signed last March 24, Republic Act (RA) 11469, requires Duterte to submit a weekly report to Congress of the government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Under the law, at least 18 million low-income households will receive cash assistance ranging from P5,000 to P8,000.
It granted additional compensation for public health workers tending to patients infected with the coronavirus.
RA 11469 also tasked the President to expedite and streamline the accreditation of testing kits and facilitate prompt testing.
