Umayos ka! Sara Duterte tells Mocha Uson to be more careful after ‘pepedederalismo’ scandal

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte has advised Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson to be “more circumspect” with her actions after she drew flak for a racy video promoting federalism.

In an interview in Camarines Sur Thursday (August 9), Duterte said there was no problem with Uson’s goal to promote federalism but her methods should be refined.

“I think our secretary should be more circumspect siguro with her actions because she already is a government official,” she said.

“But tama naman ‘yung gusto nila na mapalaki ‘yung campaign ng federalism. Siguro ‘yung messaging lang ayusin,” Duterte added.

Uson drew widespread criticism after uploading a video in which she coaxed blogger Drew Olivar to dance to a jingle on federalism that had double innuendoes.

The jingle included the words “pepe,” which is a Filipino slang term for vagina, and “dede,” a local word for breasts.

Uson has not apologized for the video even though her boss, Communications Secretary Martin Andanar, said she should no longer be involved in the campaign to promote federalism.

Duterte was in Camarines Sur to attend an oath-taking ceremony for the youth environmental organization El Verde Youth for Climate Action.
