US-bound Ubial leaves DOH under OIC for 2 weeks
The Department of Health will be managed by Undersecretary Dr. Gerardo Bayugo until July 14 since Health Secretary Paulyn Ubial has left for the United States.
In a Department Personnel Order dated June 30, Ubial designated Bayugo as officer in charge of the DOH while she was abroad.
She did not give a reason for her trip.
As officer in charge, Bayugo is authorized to act on all matters regarding the DOH’s operations, “except on sensitive policy determining matters” which Ubial said she will attend to when she’s back in the country.
The DOH has its hands full with the Marawi crisis, the series of earthquakes in Leyte, the rainy season and the slow procurement of medical equipment for military hospitals.
