Vacancies filled: Duterte appoints 20 new judges

Malacanang has named 20 new judges who would occupy vacant posts in the country, said Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra.

Guevarra released the names of the new magistrates Friday (Sept. 20) following recommendations made by the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC).

The Secretary who is an ex officio member of the JBC indicated that 11 of the new judges have been assigned to Metropolitan Trial Courts.

They are Jazon Restubog Mchael Angelo Rito, Lourdes Clarissa Donnatilla Cu, Michelle Faurillo-Joven, Jose Agualada III, Arminda Pintor, Myra Mangente, Edwin Rana, and Emmanuel Pelea.

The other nine judges have been posted to Municipal Circuit Trial Courts (MCTC).

They are Cherilee Alagaban-Alminana, Maria Janice Cano-Coderis, Celso Cueto, Generoso Severo Plazo, Tristan Cledera, Lilibeth Ranara,, Cecilia Maria Rosario Arce-Galicia, Lea Estrada, Marife Encinares-Sanchez, and Evan Domasian.
