‘Wag idamay ang mga bata:’ Mike Defensor appeals to critics not to drag his family over ABS-CBN franchise denial
Anakalusugan Party list Rep. Mike Defensor is asking critics to spare his family from their attacks over the ABS-CBN franchise controversy.
Defensor is one of the 70 lawmakers who voted in favor of a resolution rejecting the franchise bid of the network. A noise barrage was reportedly held outside the residence of Defensor in Quezon City Sunday night in protest of the junking of the network’s franchise application.
Defensor thanked people who expressed concern but appealed to his haters not to drag his family.
“I just want to thank all of those who have shown their concern and have given their solidarity. Ok naman po ako,” he tweeted.
“Wag na lang po sanang idamay ang mga bata at hindi naman po sanay sila na may biglang lumulusob sa bahay. Hindi ko po inaasahan ang pagbibigay nyo ng malasakit,” he said.
The House committee on legislative franchises found the Lopez-owned broadcast corporation unworthy of the franchise grant in voting to junk its application.
