‘Wag lahatin: Poe asks Duterte to limit veto to ‘pork’ items in 2019 budget

Independent candidate Senator Grace Poe does not support having a reenacted budget this year.

Poe made the statement after President Rodrigo Duterte threatened to veto the entire P3.757 trillion 2019 national budget if he finds the general appropriations bill problematic.

The re-electionist senator said while she understands the President has to scrutinize the budget measure, she believes it is better for Duterte to veto only certain provisions which he think are unconstitutional.

The government has been operating on a reenacted budget since January, which Poe said is bad for the implementation of social services programs.
